it's beginning to look a lot like christmas...

not long to go now til we move and looking forward to the days to come... Having christmas dinner with mum and Miss Cath and Gail are coming to visit...

I CANT WAIT!

________________________________________________________
afterthought: Had Dinner with mum... she went to all the trouble of making the table up like we would have if we were all together for christmas day... while we sat around, talking, eating (way to much) and opening presents, Matt snapped away some brilliant shots of the kids and i... (i wont go into the fact that the computer threw a fit not long after and took them all to oblivian)... we did all this with silly bon bon hats on our head way to big but none the less... we looked the part!

Had a great visit with Cath and Gail... i will have to try and find the pictures of the presents i made them... or, if they too have been lost, plead and beg with them to take a pic and send it through so i can show y'all.
What a night... it was great... wine, good food... great friends.. what else could i ask for as a going away present??? Well.. it got better.. i got exactly that... a going away present.. or better called... "A Travellers survival Kit" which i used very welll through our voyage.. This was a suitcase kind of tin full of everything that one would need to keep sane through a long trip as well as the kids happy... from coffee satchels to asprin to wet wipes and colouring books.. Cath thought of everything.. ...and finally.... we got together for some long awaited for scrapping!!!thank you so much to both you girls for making my last few days in canberra some of the best there, your laughter and friendship is cherished by me.

the sinus nerve's connected to the... tooth nerve

After putting up with a tooth ache for most of the time that i have been sick i finally decided it may be time to visit the dreaded dentist. Bleh... Why are those places so sterile and unfriendly looking? Who in their right mind enjoys going there... i am rather scared of dentists... and the thought of a needle makes me steer clear of them... afterall... they say a lil pain makes you realise your alive.. right!?!

After i started to stop taking Advil for the fevers i found this tooth ache... it reminded me of its presence every time i moved my head or walked... (the vibration through my body as i walked hurt my tooth.. go fogure) anyway... after sitting what seemed like forever in the waiting room.. (about 10 mins) with totally white knuckles, visiting with the dentist and xrays it was discovered that my sinusitis was actually causing the tooth ache..

yay... no needles.... no horrible proceedures...
i just wish that all my dental visits where as pain free!

Takes my breath away.

Check out this picture.. a total fluke though in the photography world... almost perfect!

Matt had to take some photos of Miss M after she decided to dress up in her Nannys pearls... which, by the way will be the title of the Layout HAVE to do once i print this photo... anyway... He set her up infront of the camera in the studio and for the life of either of us, we could not work out where the tiniest lil bit of glare was coming from... dinner was almost ready so we decided to come into the main part of the house. While he was uploading some of his pix from the camera to hard drive i decided to play around with her, since she is such a poser... Anyway, i was sitting in the single sofa chair sideways and started clicking.. the light was pretty messed up since the sun was going down and some blinds were open... and some closed... wanting to snap off a few photos of my own before dinner i was not really fussed about giving too much thought to what i was really doing... i got a couple of other alright shots... then ... the flash bounced off the wall as i shifted in my seat and this one was the result... a total fluke! (would you believe that there is another sofa behind her, a painting on the wall and a candlabra... oh.. and yeah.. the background was cream!

It takes my breath away....

i swear, she will be hitting our photography friends up for a shoot in a few years time... she loves the camera.. and as this photos shows.. the camera loves her. She is a natural.

Matt decided to put it in his online portfolio at a photography community he is a member of... this is what the photographers had to say....

Cancelled

Well.. i planned today to go out and buy my mother her christmas present since we will be spending next saturday with her and doing an early christmas dinner and exchanging presents although the Shopping Nazi has cancelled my expidition today, reason being: Doctors orders

Part of my not being admitted to hospital the other day was a vow made to the doctor that i would stay silent for atleast 4 days and would remain indoors in a controlled climate so that my lungs were not taking in different temperatured air until i was better... Constable Matt of the Fun Police is on duty...

I'm so sick of my own company.. am bored beyond tears and so so so tired of being sick.

The constable has gone to the store, i wonder what surprises he will bring back!?!

when one journey ends, another must be started

Well... as a few know, for the past while I've been in a competition... Well.. this comeptition was for a spot on the Scrapboxx design team.. Something that i have wanted ever since i joined an online scrapping community and seriously... the spot that i have considered the pot at the end of the rainbow.
This scrap competition was to be done in 6 rounds... While i have been so lucky to be part of this experience, part of me thought i was crazy to take on such an indepth challenge with the move looming so close and with everything else happening at the moment. For the past week or so ive been really stressing as i look at my callander and try and figure out when the last round should be needing to be submitted and when the announcement would be made. While it was only a rough estimate, i had calculated the last round being submitted the day of our move and the announcement on who had won the comp announced the day we moved in!!!
talk about stress!

Well...last night, the announcement was made as to who would go through to the next round, round 5. I was sound asleep when this descision was made. Unfortunately, this is where my journey ended. While im bummed that i must now bow out of the game, part of me is breathing a big sigh of relief that it is one stress crossed off my list now...

Last night, before turning in i finally plucked the courage to submit some of my work to Scrapbooking Memories Magazine like Alison has been harping on me to do for months.. well Al, im sure you will be very pleased to know that i have submitted 8 last night.
I shall submit my Scrapboxx DT challenge work now as well...

when one door closes, another normally opens.. right? Lets now sit back... put this all in the hands of fate and see what door shall next open for me.

My own 'lil bubble

I sit here in total silence and feel litterally like im in my own private bubble...
No one is talking to me because i can't talk back and they are getting frustrated that i cant communicate properly...... grrr... my ears are blocked up and it sounds like im listening to everything under a few million liters of water... glug glug glug.

Today has to have been the most boring day in my existance... i've checked out both of my favourite forums, responded to everything i could and even sent PMs and Emails to people in hope for some human interaction... and no one wants to play with me.
Perhaps its my germ ridden self .... who wants to play with the manky person.. right?
Perhaps something happened while i was sleeping and im the only person left on the planet? ~LMAO~
who knows...
all i know is that im bored.

hold on... me.. the only person left in existance???

oh god.. then i would truely die not being able to talk to anyone... as it is... i cant do my normal thing and talk to myself... im slowly going insane!

Totally Bummed

Why is it that when you have a million things to do and all these wonderful plans.. you always get sick?
It appears that i have let myself get a little run down over the past few weeks... ive had a niggling cough and a runny nose that i have been trying to nab at home with codral so that Matt would not freak at me... ofcourse, being the mum... i just CANT be sick while the kids are... right? Wrong...
this morning i was whipped off to the doctors for a visit since i woke and could not move my head, was coughing severly and struggling for my breaths... well... my worst nightmare was realised... i was really sick. NOOOOOO! & He also told me i was not allowed to talk for 4 days... i have the startings of laringitis... WHAT THE? How will i go 4 minutes without talking let alone 4 days!??
28 days to go til we move, tonnes of things to do and a million phone calls to make and i have no voice, a bad chest infection and sinus infection that is requiring full bed rest...
im so mad right at the moment... this is totally not fair...
and to make a bad situation worse... ive missed just over a week at the gym already because ive felt like crap (but i didnt let anyone know that ofcourse) and the doctor has told me atleast another week will go by before im back there again! GRRRRRR.
stupid sickness.... bleh!

Never look a gift horse...

Well... you know how the saying goes... right? Never look a gift horse in the mouth... and all that... well... it seems that because of politics and liabitity, that is exactly what companies like the Salvation army are having to do these days...

Two weeks ago i organised a pick up with the Salvos, offering them in total, about a $1000 rrp worth of baby stuff that was still tucked away in our garage from Miss M... ofcourse, that is not what i would sell them for if i wanted to... though very much what they cost us in the beginning...
anyway... yesterday, even though i felt like crap i took the fabric covers off a few of the things (even though the items had been covered in plastic wrap) and washed them... recalling something that the woman that took my call said "this time of the year we have many things that just go directly to people in need... christmas is such a rough time on some families"... i figured, if these items were to be given a new home and not placed in a store, how nice it would be to have them glistening, shiney and with fresh covers..

well... this morning the truck arrived and the guys came into the garage to have a look at the things, telling me that they needed to sight the "australian safety standards stickers"... i told them that i had never seen them on the items and if they had been on the handles of the pram that im sure Mira would have picked it off at some point.
Because of this small technicality, still... sitting in my shed are the items, in excellent condition...
Much to my horror and dismay they were not able to be taken because these stickers were missing. I think the young guy that was with the driver was in as much shock that such great items were being left.

It makes you wonder what the world is coming to that items that are so expensive and can be such a burden to have to buy by people facing financial difficulties are being refused simply because of the fear of liability claims and some idiot in parliament.

While i could have very well sold these items, i figured that since Matt and i were in need once upon a time that giving these things... especially so close to christmas... would be a nice way to "pay it forward"...

Chicken spots dots & even pox!

Well.... could you believe it... this morning Miss M(Miranda) woke up with a spot on her eyebrow that i thought was simply a pimply lil thing that kids get some times... obviously i didnt think it worth mentioning here in my ramblings... though since... they have bred, mulptiplied, trippled and spread all over her poor lil body... how much more could really go wrong with my sweet lil babe in one week?

I guess the up side is that she is not at all perterbed by them and is not in any obvious distress from their hurting or itching though a few of them are very big!?!
Now... i guess we wait to see if Jamie, who only had a very mild case of 3 dots when Kiera had them, gets them again... what joy! (not)

and they're off!

i dont know what drugs i was on this morning thinking that demerger had a chance of winning the cup... stupid horse... did it even finish?? ~LMAO~

anyway... i'm not caring cause i won 2nd prize in the $3 sweeps on Pop rock and will have a wonderful lil bounty of scrapping goodies arriving in my mail box very soon!!!

30 Days and counting

Well yesterday we recieved official confirmation of our move dates... i'm so excited..

Prepack 7th December
Uplift 8th December
Deliver 12th December

I think that gives us a good little time to pack things away exactly where we want them and be totally settled and comfortable before the fat man arrives...

ofcourse... the christmas tree will be up the night we move in..

Talking of christmas.... we had our first this weekend with Matts mum and dad... was cool... the kids got some great presents and Matt and i will surely make use of the electric frying pan we got!

Christmas with my mum may have to be postponed this week because of remeberance day... though at this stage, im hoping Matt doesnt go to work on monday which means we could do christmas on sunday...
i guess.... though... we will just have to wait and see!

The Gid~dey~up cup

Well... its that time of the year again... time for drinks and horsies and major fashion stuff ups!

Its the Melbourne cup today.... while i'm not betting on the ponies in a traditional sence i have gone into a sweep... or five with some girls for a prize pool of scrapping products...
all i can say this morning... between gut wretching coughs (from my cold that has got nasty) is... giddy up Demerger!!!

For some reason, when i saw the names of the horses this year, i thought that Demerger was a winning name and if i had the energy to get to a TAB i would have placed a bet on that horse... (my usual $1 or $2 each way)... i know... im the last of the big spenders!~LMAO~... anyway.... much to my surprise and excitement... Demerger was my horse for my $5 sweep... how happy am i??

(i guess we will re evaluate that after the race has run... right??)

my sweep ponies are :

$1 : #20 Glistening
$2 : #22 Dolphin Jo
$3 :#12 Pop Rock
$4 :#16 Kerry O'Reilly
$5 :#19 Demerger

Im not too sure about any of those other names... though... i must say... the horses i have have better names than some of them that are racing this year, thats for sure....

after thought: Why are horses given such weird names and how do they hold their head up in the stables when they have a rediculous name? Talk about embarrassing!

Yesterday...

Yesterday was the first time that i had taken Miranda out since her eye started to bleed earlier this week... more to her request than anything since she didn't like the look of her eye and thought that everyone would laugh at her.
It is very noticable... its very red from the blood and yellow from the pigmentation where some of the blood from earlier bleeding is healing. She is right... it doesn't look nice... though... as her mama.. her eyes to me... are still as beautiful as ever.
She knew that since she was not going to preschool (because of her cold) that she would have to go shopping with me... though, where i thought there would be a fight of wills trying to convince her that it would be okay, much to my amazement she donned on a pair of sunglasses (that daddy bought her last sunday) and said she was fine and ready to go... while her eye was still noticable beneath the sunglasses... to her... they were the magic that she needed to go out...
i watched people yesterday... some looked at her in curiosity... others just smiled at her cheeriness and seemed to ignore the very sore looking eye... out of all the people we passed, and we would have had to have passed hundreds yesterday, only a handful noticably... rudely... stared.
The thing that really made me smile was a little boy in the bank no more than 5 who willingly approached miranda and started talking to her... not once did he ask what was wrong with her eye or seemed to care in the slightest that she looked different than him.

why is it that small children seem to have this ability to just accept everyone ... no matter their race, features or disability?
When is it that most change and allow the very thing that makes us all individual, to divide us?

Hopefully before long my sweet beautiful girl will be showing those gorgeous dark blue eyes to the world proudly again.
